Michael Gilberg is a special education attorney who advocates for the rights of children to receive a free and appropriate education under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Michael is admitted to both the New York and Connecticut bars. Michael has B.A., M.P.A. and J.D. from Pace University. Growing up with Aspeger’s syndrome Michael endeavors to be a role model for others on the spectrum to enter the legal profession. Michael finds that having lived through many of the same challenges his clients face gives him empathy and makes him a better lawyer. Michael is also an active member of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA), the Westchester County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Disability Rights Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association, and the Justice Brandeis law society of Westchester. Michael also maintains active membership in a number of disability and Autism related organizations as well as being very politically active at the local, state, and national levels. In addition to special education and disability rights is Michael is also passionate about election law and animal rights law.
