Stuart Pixley is a Senior Attorney in Microsoft’s legal and corporate affairs department in Redmond, WA. Prior to joining Microsoft in 2008, Stuart was Special Counsel at Heller Ehrman (Menlo Park, CA) and, before that, a National Partner at Baker & McKenzie (San Francisco, CA). He also been an associate at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison (Palo Alto, CA) and Milbank, Tweed, Hadley &; McCloy (New York, NY). Throughout his career, Stuart has handled a wide variety of complex technology and intellectual property transactions for software, semiconductor, pharmaceutical and biotech companies. In his current position, Stuart specializes in patent licensing transactions and open-source software counseling. He received his law degree from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law in 1997 and his Bachelor’s in Arts in Psychology from Pitzer College in 1990.
In recent years, Stuart has been deeply involved in promoting disability diversity in the legal field. In addition to being a founding board member of NAAD, Stuart is co-chair of the Washington Attorneys with Disabilities Association (WADA) as well as a Commissioner for the ABA Commission for Disability Rights and leader of a disability diversity team for Microsoft’s legal and corporate affairs department. Previously, Stuart served on the Washington State Bar Association’s Committee for Diversity and has been a perennial panelist at the annual conference for NALSWD (National Association of Law Students with Disabilities).
